Isolation was conceived in 2024—a year that shattered much of the artist’s hope. The piece was started during that time but could not be completed until 2025. Finishing it required the artist to sit fully with their emotions, moving through each layer of pain rather than avoiding it. Completion became an act of endurance, reflection, and acceptance, marking a quiet turning point—the moment where light began to emerge at the end of a long and uncertain road. This work represents an individual at the end of their rope, holding on to only fragments of hope. During this period, the artist experienced life as a maze with no clear exit, pursued by a looming darkness. In time, however, they came to understand that what they were running from was not separate, but their own shadow. Until they chose to stand still, confront it, and begin the process of reflection, they remained lost within that maze.
